Nissin Foods is committed to protecting the future of our planet. Through our EARTH FOOD CHALLENGE 2030, we are making strides to reduce our overall environmental impact with a pledge to minimize CO2 emissions by 30% by 2030. Through this program, we have achieved significant milestones on a global scale, and in the US, we have made impactful investments, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship.
Milestones to Date:
- USA HQ Powered by Renewable Energy: At our headquarters in Gardena, CA we recently completed the installation of solar panels, allowing our corporate offices to be powered by 100% renewable energy. These solar panels harness the power of the sun to generate clean energy, reducing our reliance on traditional energy sources and minimizing our carbon footprint.
- Electric Vehicle Charging Stations: In our ongoing efforts to promote sustainable transportation, we have installed electric vehicle charging stations at our Gardena and Lancaster plants. This infrastructure supports the transition to cleaner transportation options and underscores our commitment to reducing emissions.
- Plant-Wide Energy Reduction Initiatives: Through comprehensive plant-wide initiatives, we successfully reduced CO2 in Gardena by 7% in FY22 compared to FY21 and decreased our carbon footprint by over 66,000 pounds of CO2 in 2022. By implementing efficient practices and embracing innovative technologies, we are actively working towards a more sustainable future. As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility, we are proud to support a green hydroelectric project through an initiative that helps offset the energy consumed by our plants.
We are steadfast in our pursuit of our EARTH FOOD CHALLENGE 2030 objectives and will continue to invest in sustainable practices that contribute to a more prosperous world. Together, let’s work together to make a positive impact on future generations.
